The Vila Helena guest-house lies on the edge of a historic town called Prachatice. This town was part of the famous "Golden Path" which formed an important salt trade route between medieval countries since the 11th century. Thanks to its location Prachatice is considered the "gate" of Šumava mountains.
Vila Helena was built in 1887 as a part of spa complex Lázně Svaté Markéty. This complex worked since the end of the 18th century and it was the first spa in Bohemia which started to use as a treatment the Kneipp and Priessnitz method for water cure. The spa tradition lived its blossom at the beginning of the 20th century but it stopped working in 1935. However, all the houses and residences continued used for recreation as well as Vila Helena which offers to its guests a comfortable accommodation and an exquisite czech cuisine.
Its location on the foothills of Šumava mountains and proximity of various castles and chateaus makes Vila Helena guest-house an attractive tourist destination for everybody.
